Established November 17, 1989, as a not for profit organization, the Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC) is a joint venture between industry, education and community partners in the Halton Region. Our goal is simple: to enhance career education and create the best opportunities for youth.

As our society changes, the need for a skilled and educated workforce is increasing at a rapid rate. HIEC works to forge new bridges between the community and Halton's industrial, educational, and business sectors for their mutual benefit.

HIEC is provincially recognized for its wide-reaching, informative career education programs, Career Resource Centre, and our overall commitment to helping young people make successful transitions from school to career. HIEC is able to do this through its many diverse programs including ApprenticeSearch.com, The Grade 8 program, Halton Apprentice Advisory Council, Passport to Prosperity, School to Career, EmployerRegisty.ca and many others.
