FAQ

1. What is Men as Career Coaches (MACC)?
a. MACC is a program designed to involve a variety of men from different occupational pathways to encourage and help young men become better informed about the many options available to them in the world of work. Male mentors representing all occupational sectors will act as career coaches to empower young men to take control of their futures.

2. Do I need a username and password to register for the event?
a. No, simply click the ‘Register Now’ link to fill out the registration form.

3. I registered online, do I need a ticket to attend the event?
a. No, tickets are not needed. Once you register online your name will be added to our registration list. Make sure to stop by the registration desk on your way in to the event to confirm your attendance.

4. When does the program start?
a. Program starts at 6:00 p.m. sharp. However, registration and the dinner buffet will be open at 5:15 p.m. and will close around 6:10 p.m.

5. I have received an invoice for my sponsorship, what do I do now?
a. There are two ways to pay your invoice
i. You can send a cheque payable to:

ii. Or you can call Ali Fraser at 905-634-2575 ext. 28 and pay by Visa or MasterCard.

6. I am interested in sponsoring the event, who should I contact about these opportunities?
a. As a non-profit organization we value every sponsor who contributes to our events and programs. We appreciate any level of sponsorship because we can’t do this without you! If you are interested in sponsoring the event please contact Michelle Marino, Events Lead & Communications Specialist at 905-634-2575 x 30 or mmarino@hiec.on.ca.

7. How do I get to Burlington Convention Centre?
a. Click here for directions to the Burlington Convention Centre.

8. Who do I contact if I have an allergy or dietary restriction?
a. Please contact Ali Fraser at 905-634-2575 ext. 28 or afraser@hiec.on.ca as soon as you register.

9. Can I pay for my sponsorship on the day of the event?
a. Yes, cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted at the registration desk.

10. Is the Orientation Session mandatory?
a. No, this opportunity provides a chance to meet other career coaches and learn more about the Men as Career Coaches program.

11. I missed the Orientation Session, is there something I should read to see what I missed?

12. Who do I contact if I know of a high school student that would be interested in attending the event?
a. Please contact Joan Powell at 905-634-2575 ext.13 or jpowell@hiec.on.ca.

13. Can I invite other men - friends/colleagues/family?
a. Yes, please encourage other men to register online.

14. Is it assigned seating?
a. Each table of eight will have four career coaches with different occupations and four high school students ranging from grades 9-12.
- Career coaches will have assigned seats
- Students do not have assigned seats and are able to sit with their friends

15. I have a spotlight speaker recommendation. Who do I send their contact information to?
